Adobe used to sell its software in the same way until it finally discontinued Creative Suite in 2013.<\/p>\n<p>For many creative professionals, the idea of \u201cbuy once, cry once\u201d for the software tools they use may be compelling enough, especially as subscription costs<a href=\"https:\/\/thedieline.com\/adobe-announces-changes-including-price-hikes-to-creative-cloud-subscriptions\/\">continue<\/a>\u00a0to rise. Some designers begrudgingly pay Adobe every month (or annually) whatever it asks because that\u2019s the devil they know, and if they\u2019re going to pay for the software, they might as well go for the \u201cstandard.\u201d However, not having to pay anything at all, ever, lowers any financial barrier to entry.
