This preview takes a broad look at how consolidation and other factors influenced this year\u2019s ranking.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIn 2025, several high-profile acquisitions reshaped the flexible packaging sector among the top 25 converters, including the merger of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.packagingstrategies.com\/articles\/105624-amcor-completes-combination-with-berry-global-touts-expected-synergies\" id=\"\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Amcor and Berry Global<\/a> in April and the divestiture of Sonoco\u2019s Thermoformed and Flexibles Packaging business to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.packagingstrategies.com\/articles\/105538-toppan-holdings-completes-acquisition-of-sonocos-tfp-business\" id=\"\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">TOPPAN Holdings Inc.<\/a>, also in April,\u201d notes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.packagingstrategies.com\/articles\/105538-toppan-holdings-completes-acquisition-of-sonocos-tfp-business\" id=\"\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">John Hart<\/a>, Managing Director of PMCF Investment Banking.<\/p>\n<p>Hart adds: \u201cStrategic consolidation continues to drive activity in flexible plastic packaging, with 24 [global] transactions recorded through August 2025 year-to-date, compared to 12 during the same period in 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Also worth considering:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Converting transactions have shown consistent momentum in 2025, with 19 deals recorded through August, exceeding the same period in 2024 by three deals, and continuing to account for a greater proportion of overall deal activity than extrusion transactions.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Foreign transactions have outpaced domestic deal flow in the packaging sector for August 2025 year-to-date, continuing a trend from 2024 and reflecting sustained buyer interest in cross-border opportunities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In addition to the Amcor\/Berry and TOPPAN\/Sonoco deals, Hart says some additional notable acquisitions include:\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Be sure to check out our <strong>Top 25 Flexible Packaging Converters<\/strong> story on November 17 to learn how these and other developments impacted the Top 25 list!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.packagingstrategies.com\/articles\/106080-top-25-converters-preview-acquisitions-reshape-flexible-packaging-landscape\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On November 17, Packaging Strategies will release its latest ranking of the Top 25 Flexible Packaging Converters.
