Swiss packaging company SIG has appointed Mikko Keto as its next CEO, with his arrival expected in the first half of 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Keto will operate out of SIG\u2019s headquarters in Switzerland.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He will join from FLSmidth, a Danish engineering group, where he has served as group CEO since 2022, leading a business transformation programme.\u00a0<\/p>\n

This programme included financial and operational restructuring, cost-reduction, and portfolio optimisation\u202fthrough a major divestment and merger.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

SIG doubled FLSmidth\u2019s value during his time as its CEO.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Keto stated: \u201cI am thrilled to be appointed CEO of SIG. The group has a high-quality business model, with engineering, innovation and sustainability at its core. I very much look forward to leading the company into its next chapter and building on its strong foundation.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Before FLSmidth, Keto worked for more than nine years at Metso, most recently as president of services and pumps.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

His earlier career includes senior roles at Nokia Networks and KONE.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

He has served as a board director and member of the audit committee at Normet Group since 2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n

SIG Board chairman Ola Roll\u00e9n added: \u201cI am delighted to welcome Mikko to the Group as CEO. He brings an impressive track record of driving business and cultural transformations in engineering-led systems businesses.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Established in 1853, SIG provides aseptic carton, bag-in-box and spouted pouch packaging solutions.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The company reported revenue of \u20ac3.3bn ($3.82bn) in 2024 and produces 57 billion packs annually. It has 9,600 employees across more than 100 countries.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In early November 2025, Austria-based SalzburgMilch became the first company in Europe to introduce<\/a> its dairy products in SIG\u2019s DomeMini carton bottle format.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The new on-the-go packaging, developed by SIG, was launched in October 2023.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The DomeMini design offers a smart solution for mobile dairy consumption while opening co-packing and private-label possibilities for brands and retailers.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
