Depending on their goals, producers can use fast-curing, cost-optimised formulations with up to 50% less platinum or formulations that cure at temperatures up to 15% lower, both of which can reduce energy consumption.\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Lower curing temperatures also help maintain paper strength and limit moisture loss, which can support downgauging to lighter, thinner paper.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, faster curing can enable higher coater speeds to increase throughput.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>For downstream operations, UPM Forte glassines deliver consistent high-speed release performance.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Reduced silicone transfer is also cited as improving print outcomes, particularly with sensitive pretreated filmic face materials.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>UPM\u2019s updated technology is available in three grades covering established industrial shades and basis weights from 45 g\/m\u00b2 to 78 g\/m\u00b2.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Oscar Duarte, director label and release for EMEIA [Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa] and the Americas region at UPM Specialty Papers, stated: \u201cWe have seen rising energy costs and platinum prices in recent years.
