It might seem like an innocuous change, but many fans weren\u2019t<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/maryland\/comments\/8s589b\/old_bay_switched_to_plastic_containers_and_i_am\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0happy<\/a>\u00a0with it (shout out, Maryland Reddit fam), not least because the new packaging had a nasty habit of<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/maryland\/comments\/s6iz40\/do_they_make_metal_cans_of_old_bay_anymore\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">\u00a0losing<\/a>\u00a0its lid when pouring that Bay onto food, creating a mess or ruining a meal.<\/p>\n<p>Some consumers resorted to saving and reusing the old tins, refilling them from the new plastic containers.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft size-large\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><em>OLD BAY, the iconic Chesapeake Bay seasoning, is changing its packaging from plastic back to its original material, tin.
