Belgian packaging solutions\u202fprovider VPK Group has made a deal to increase its shareholding in UK corrugated cardboard producer Ribble Packaging from 30% to 50%.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The deal gives VPK joint control alongside Ribble\u2019s existing shareholders, following the Belgian company\u2019s initial minority investment made in 2023.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The transaction aligns with VPK\u2019s long-term plan to build a stronger position in the fanfold packaging segment and extend its operational reach across Europe.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The group\u2019s fanfold network currently includes sites in Alizay, France, and at the Zetacarton facility in Senna, Italy.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ribble managing director Stephen Rector stated: \u201cThis new 50\/50 joint venture position unlocks the full potential of the Ribble\/VPK partnership and will facilitate and support continued sustainable growth, innovation and enhanced service for our customers. Ribble\u2019s organisation structure, strategy and day-to-day activities remain unchanged.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Its ability to match varying product sizes is a way to limit material use and enhance transport efficiency.\u00a0<\/p>\n

VPK\u2019s higher stake in Ribble underpins its strategy of developing a vertically integrated model.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

The group operates its own paper mills in Belgium and France.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Through the new agreement, VPK aims to serve e-commerce operators, distribution centres and customers focused on right-sized packaging across Europe in a more efficient way.\u00a0<\/p>\n

VPK Group CEO Pierre Macharis added: \u201cRibble has invested significantly in recent years and, with more than 80 years of experience \u2013 including 30 years in fanfold \u2013 has evolved into a leading UK market player in this segment. By deepening our partnership, we strengthen our position in this fast-growing market and respond to the increasing demand for right-sized packaging.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

In July 2025, VPK Group appointed<\/a> Patrick Leclercq as the new divisional CEO of its corrugated board division.\u00a0<\/p>\n
