Lecta, the Spanish producer of speciality papers for labels and flexible packaging, has launched Metalvac Ice Cream, a recyclable metallised paper developed for flexible packaging in the ice cream and frozen food segment.<\/p>\n

The material extends the company\u2019s Metalvac portfolio and is intended as an alternative to conventional laminate structures used for wrapping ice cream cones and comparable products.<\/p>\n

It is supplied in a 123-gsm grade and is designed to run on standard industrial packing lines.<\/p>\n

The company said the paper provides a water vapour barrier to help maintain wafer cone quality when in direct contact with the packaging throughout the supply chain.<\/p>\n

It supports offset, flexographic and rotogravure printing on the metallised surface and is engineered for consistent performance in industrial use.<\/p>\n

Metalvac Ice Cream can be recycled through paper and cardboard collection streams in line with CEPI recyclability standards.<\/p>\n

According to Lecta, the product is aligned with circular economy principles and is suitable for a variety of flexible packaging uses.<\/p>\n

The broader Metalvac range includes paper grades offering heat-sealability and barriers to light, water vapour, oxygen and aroma, alongside resistance to moisture and grease, without the addition of PFAS.<\/p>\n

Lecta said the Metalvac range, including Metalvac Ice Cream, is produced in line with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety standards.<\/p>\n

It also complies with ISO 14001 and EMAS for environmental management, ISO 50001 for energy management, ISO 9001 for quality management, and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety.<\/p>\n

Last month,\u00a0Lecta received the\u00a0flustix\u00a0\u201cLess Plastics Product\u201d\u00a0certification<\/a>\u00a0for its\u00a0EraCup\u00a0Natural board, a material used in food service packaging.\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n
