US-based Cortec has released a new version of its Eco Wrap industrial stretch film, five years after introducing the product as a compostable alternative to conventional machine-grade stretch film.<\/p>\n

The company said the updated Eco Wrap has been reformulated in response to customer feedback on the original version.<\/p>\n

According to Cortec, the new formulation provides three times the cling and more than one-and-a-half times the tear strength compared with the previous iteration,<\/p>\n

The updated film is said to meet industrial compostability requirements, certified by TUV Austria and compliant with EN 13432 and ASTM D6400 standards.<\/p>\n

Eco Wrap is manufactured using a certified compostable resin combined with a proprietary tackifier additive.<\/p>\n

Cortec said it has spent the past three years refining materials, production processes and equipment, alongside capital investments exceeding $2m.<\/p>\n

These upgrades were aimed at improving control over raw material concentrations and increasing tackifier levels within the film.<\/p>\n

The company added that the revised production setup has also resulted in improved film clarity and reduced tearing during pallet wrapping.<\/p>\n

This, it said, enables tighter wrapping and better adhesion of film tails to pallets.<\/p>\n

Eco Wrap is currently offered as a custom-order product in widths ranging from 45.7cm to 81.3cm and is supplied in full pallet quantities.<\/p>\n

Cortec said it is working to make the product available as a stocked item in the coming months.<\/p>\n

The stretch film is intended for use in markets with plastic restrictions, as well as by companies pursuing corporate sustainability targets or those with access to industrial composting facilities.<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Cortec launched<\/a> EcoSonic VpCI-125 HP, a new permanent electrostatic discharge (ESD) stretch film for the electronics industry.<\/p>\n

The material is engineered to provide both ESD protection and corrosion inhibition, and it is designed to retain its static-dissipative properties throughout its service life.<\/p>\n
