Verallia, a glass packaging provider for food and beverages,\u00a0has\u00a0named\u00a0Cristina Riesgo\u00a0as its new\u00a0chief financial officer\u00a0(CFO).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Riesgo will assume the new responsibility on 1 March 2026, succeeding Nathalie Delbreuve.<\/p>\n

Riesgo\u00a0has more than two decades of experience in financial roles across various international companies and sectors.\u00a0<\/p>\n

She\u00a0started\u00a0her career at General Electric (GE),\u00a0rising\u00a0through the ranks in finance.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Early in her career, she was appointed\u00a0head of controlling for one of the company\u2019s divisions, creating its first commercial finance team and reinforcing risk management and performance strategies.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Her trajectory at GE continued with a series of global leadership roles including financial planning and analysis leader,\u00a0CFO for Supply Chain Factories, and business development and mergers and acquisitions leader.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In 2020, she\u00a0moved to\u00a0Siemens Gamesa as CFO of its Onshore division, where she managed the financial operations for a $6bn\u00a0(\u20ac5.12bn) business and led a team of 400 finance professionals.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Riesgo added: \u201cI am delighted to contribute to Verallia\u2019s development by ensuring robust financial governance and driving initiatives that support profitable and sustainable growth. In an evolving and challenging environment, maintaining financial agility and discipline is key to enabling innovation and securing the long-term future of the glass industry.\u201d<\/p>\n

Riesgo\u00a0will report to\u00a0Verallia\u00a0Group\u00a0CEO\u00a0Patrice Lucas\u00a0and\u00a0be a part of\u00a0the\u00a0executive committee.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Lucas\u00a0said:\u00a0\u201cI am\u00a0thrilled to welcome Cristina as our new CFO.\u00a0I am\u00a0very confident that her leadership and experience will play a key role in shaping the next chapter of our success.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Riesgo\u00a0is expected to play a key role in supporting the\u00a0group\u2019s growth plans and strategic\u00a0objectives, in line with its stated purpose to \u201creimagine glass for a sustainable future\u201d.\u00a0<\/p>\n

As a result of Riesgo\u2019s scheduled start date,\u00a0Verallia\u00a0has postponed its Capital Market Day from January 2026 to the third quarter of the year to accommodate her transition and involvement in the event\u2019s preparation.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Verallia\u00a0operates 35 glass production sites in 12 countries, supported by a workforce of\u00a0nearly 11,000.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It\u00a0reported revenues of \u20ac3.5bn\u00a0in 2024\u00a0and\u00a0produced more than 16 billion glass bottles and jars.\u00a0<\/p>\n
