However, as shall be seen, there were a few outliers.

1. Top 100 Food and Beverage Packaging Companies

We actually published this story at the tail end of 2024 (on December 19 of that year). However, it continued to garner interest in 2025. We’ll be releasing an updated Top 100 list in March.

2. The Future of Packaging: Bold Predictions for 2025

This contributed article from Restaurantware’s Jamil Bouchareb was published just two days into 2025 and apparently struck a chord. Bouchareb talked about how Restaurantware has expanded its offerings to include home-compostable, pulp-based packaging while investing in research and development of innovative, sustainable material substrates.

3. The Top 25 Flexible Packaging Converters of 2025

We published the Top 25 list in November. We already know that next year’s list will have to be revised what with ProAmpac announcing its plans to acquire TC Transcontinental Packaging since both companies are in the current Top 25. We’re already looking ahead to what the list might look like in 2026.

4. Evolving Demands Reshape the Pouch Converting Landscape

This article was contributed by Jason Beauleau, a Sales Executive for BW Converting’s Hudson-Sharp brand. It’s not surprising that these and other contributed articles made the Top 10. We love it when industry leaders take the wheel and share what they’re seeing across the packaging landscape.

5. The Year Compostable Packaging Steps into the Spotlight

This is yet another contributed article, this time from Daphna Nissenbaum, CEO and Co-Founder of TIPA. Nissenbaum explains how compostable packaging has emerged as a vital tool in the industry’s sustainability arsenal.

6. Women in Packaging

Every year that we turn the spotlight on Women in Packaging, we’re amazed at their breadth of talent, relentless drive, and invaluable insights. This is one of my favorite annual features to pull together.

7. The Brand Manager’s Guide to Chemistry in Fiber-Based Packaging

Perhaps the most technical, no-frills, egg-heady headline to make the Top 10, but a compelling story nonetheless. Bill Kuecker of Solenis says the shift to paper-based packaging isn’t optional anymore and explains what brand managers need to know about the critical role of chemistry in sustainable packaging.

8. Packaging M&A

It’s no surprise that Mergers & Acquisitions made the Top 10, but the specific story taking the No. 8 spot is a contributed piece from Thomas Blaige which was actually published in December 2024. Blaige said Amcor’s acquisition of Berry Global sent a strong signal to the M&A market: Consolidation remains a key strategy for companies seeking to enhance scale, operational efficiency, and market reach.

9. JBM Packaging

The No. 9 spot goes to our September story on JBM Packaging breaking ground on a new facility in Lebanon, Ohio. It’s always exciting to report on new facilities and facility expansions. Another such story that came close to making the Top 10 was our April reporting on Morris Packaging building a new $61-million flexible packaging facility in Kentucky.

10. Fresh-Lock® and TIPA Help True. ApS Launch Compostable Date Packaging

Dates may seem like an oddly specific product to make the Top 10 list. However, the packaging for the dates is the real star of the show and ultimately is what got people’s attention. By partnering with TIPA and Fresh-Lock, True Dates was able to move away from petrochemical-based packaging and step into the world of bio-based, compostable solutions.

Well, that’s the Top 10 list for 2025. We can’t wait to see the exciting stories that 2026 will bring!

Brad Addington

Chief Editor, Packaging Strategies

(248) 227-4727

addingtonb@bnpmedia.com

Source link

✕ Modern technology allows us to track which Packaging Strategies stories are getting the most readership, so this is a perfect time to look at which stories were the most popular during calendar year 2025.
