Amcor has implemented a 3D printing system at its innovation centre in Barcelona, Spain, as part of its rigid packaging division.<\/p>\n

The addition completes the rollout of 3D printing facilities across all five of the company\u2019s global rigid packaging centres, which are situated in Spain, Switzerland, the US, and China.<\/p>\n

With this technology now available at each site, Amcor\u2019s centres can collaborate across regions to develop packaging for sectors such as health, beauty and wellness, nutrition, and food and beverages.<\/p>\n

The use of 3D printing enables teams to convert design ideas and CAD [computer-aided design] files into physical models and prototypes for review, the company noted in a statement.<\/p>\n

These prototypes can then be used for early evaluation of appearance, function, and manufacturability.<\/p>\n

The technology also supports the production of sample packs for initial consumer testing.<\/p>\n

The company operates ten innovation centres globally and aims to provide specialised design and technical support to different markets.<\/p>\n

Recently, Amcor introduced a new bottle design<\/a>\u00a0called Mocha for the beauty and personal care sector. <\/p>\n

The bottle features \u201ca rounded base and curved shoulders\u201d and is available in several colours and finishes with a large branding area.<\/p>\n
