Specialized Packaging Group (SPG) has opened a new manufacturing site in\u00a0Austin,\u00a0aiming\u00a0to better support customers in the southern and mid-south regions of the\u00a0US.<\/p>\n

The 75,000ft\u00b2 facility in north-east Austin is intended to increase production capacity for custom-engineered packaging.<\/p>\n

It\u00a0will\u00a0specialise\u00a0in the\u00a0manufacture of\u00a0corrugated and foam packaging, with\u00a0an initial\u00a0focus on supplying the automotive and technology sectors.<\/p>\n

The site features updated manufacturing equipment, including a rotary die cutter and a dual-colour printing system.<\/p>\n

It also marks SPG\u2019s introduction of a cold-glue automated system for corrugated materials, aimed at offering more tailored packaging options based on specific customer requirements.<\/p>\n

SPG has\u00a0indicated\u00a0that the facility will create employment opportunities in the Austin area and will work with local vendors and service providers as part of its operational strategy.<\/p>\n

With headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, SPG operates throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico, supplying various sectors such as aerospace, electronics, medical, and automotive.<\/p>\n

This development follows the company\u2019s\u00a0opening of\u00a0its\u00a0facility in Guadalajara<\/a>, Mexico,\u00a0in January, with the expansion\u00a0attributed to rising demand for crate systems used in transporting technology hardware such as servers for\u00a0AI\u00a0applications.<\/p>\n
