UPM Specialty Materials has introduced its proprietary Forte precoating technology to its SCK release base paper portfolio, a product line tailored for the US market.<\/p>\n

The integration is aimed at assisting silicone coaters and labelstock producers in improving production efficiency and controlling costs.<\/p>\n

The company states that the addition of Forte technology allows manufacturers to optimise silicone curing and anchoring during release liner production.<\/p>\n

According to UPM, the technology supports the use of silicone formulations with up to 50% less platinum and can enable curing at temperatures up to 15% lower, leading to potential reductions in both raw material use and energy consumption.<\/p>\n

The company added that this development can help increase coating speeds and deliver stable release behaviour, depending on the silicone formulation applied.<\/p>\n

UPM Specialty Materials product portfolio management director Jukka Kotilainen said: \u201cUPM SCK Forte base papers give our customers a more efficient and predictable coating surface that supports faster, more reliable silicone curing and anchoring.<\/p>\n
