Packaging machinery provider Hugo Beck is set to unveil paper S, a compact sleeve wrapper paper, at the interpack 2026 trade fair scheduled to be held in D\u00fcsseldorf, Germany.<\/p>\n

The solution is designed for sustainable transport and secondary packaging.<\/p>\n

The machine is aimed at providing alternatives to traditional plastic shrink film and cardboard, both of which are widely used in the packaging sector.<\/p>\n

It applies a kraft paper wrap tightly around products, either with or without a tray, to facilitate secure packaging for industries ranging from consumer goods to retail.<\/p>\n

This introduction adds to Hugo Beck\u2019s existing range of paper packaging machines, bringing additional emphasis on transport packaging.<\/p>\n

The paper S model is compact and intended for ease of operation and maintenance.<\/p>\n

It can function in line with current production lines or as a standalone unit, making it suitable for facilities where space is restricted.<\/p>\n

The machine secures products using overlapped kraft paper sealed with hot-melt adhesive.<\/p>\n

This configuration is proposed to maintain package stability throughout shipping and handling processes, potentially allowing manufacturers to reduce the use of shrink film and cardboard without compromising on product protection.<\/p>\n

Hugo Beck said that the paper S may also result in reduced energy use compared to heat-intensive shrink wrapping methods.<\/p>\n

Additional features such as digital printing, labelling systems, and automation options can be included depending on operational requirements.<\/p>\n

Development of the sleeve wrapper involved cooperation with Mondi, an international packaging producer.<\/p>\n

The demonstration at interpack will use Mondi\u2019s Ad\/Vantage StretchWrap, a 70gsm uncoated kraft paper described as lightweight but durable, puncture-resistant, and suitable for recycling in standard paper streams.<\/p>\n

The material is also reported to have compostable properties.<\/p>\n

Hugo Beck\u2019s managing director Jonas Beck said: \u201cThis introduction of the paper S in close collaboration with Mondi as a holistic solution represents a logical next step in our sustainable packaging strategy. <\/p>\n
