ALPLA has\u00a0commenced\u00a0operations at its new manufacturing facility in Calamba City, Philippines,\u00a0establishing\u00a0its first base plant in the country.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Known for its global packaging and recycling activities, the company is expanding its reach in the Asia-Pacific region with this move.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Calamba City facility started production in mid-2025 and includes 4,800m\u00b2\u00a0allocated for production, administrative work, and\u00a0logistics.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Alpla previously operated in the Philippines as an in-house partner since 2014, producing preforms and bottles directly at client filling sites.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The new plant produces plastic containers, bottles, and closures through various methods, including injection stretch blow moulding (ISBM), extrusion blow moulding (EBM), and compression moulding (CM).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Clients include multinational fast-moving consumer goods companies, beverage producers, and local manufacturers.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

An opening ceremony was held on 19 March to mark the occasion.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

Present at the event were Alpla\u2019s chief operating\u00a0officer Walter Ritzer; Alpla Asia-Pacific managing director Ronald Tichelaar; Christian Kotschy, who leads Alpla Philippines, and other guests.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ritzer\u00a0said: \u201cThis strategically important investment in the Philippines strengthens our presence in the Asia-Pacific region. With our experience and technology, we will\u00a0establish\u00a0ourselves in this country as an important partner for all local and international customers.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Tichelaar\u00a0commented: \u201cWe see\u00a0great potential\u00a0in the Philippine market and aim to differentiate ourselves with complete system solutions. With ISBM, EBM and CM already installed, we can offer customers\u00a0a high level\u00a0of vertical integration, global quality\u00a0standards\u00a0and efficient, reliable production from day one. Expanding our portfolio here was the logical next step.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

The company currently has\u00a0around 40\u00a0employees in\u00a0Calamba City.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Last December, Alpla received government funding<\/a>\u00a0in the Netherlands to\u00a0establish\u00a0a recycling operation using a solvent-based process for creating food-grade recycled HDPE.<\/p>\n

Pilot tests are underway at the National Test Centre Circular Plastics in Heerenveen.\u00a0<\/p>\n
