UPM Adhesive Materials has introduced a portfolio of label materials intended to work with recycling processes for packaging.<\/p>\n

The new UPM ProCycle range combines adhesive systems with products described as circular, with the aim of giving converters and packaging brand owners a clearer set of options for labels with recognised recyclability credentials.<\/p>\n

The range currently covers materials for rigid polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) packs used in drinks, food, and home and personal care products.<\/p>\n

UPM said the adhesive technologies in the portfolio, including wash-off options, are made to allow labels and related materials to detach during mechanical recycling stages such as washing and grinding.<\/p>\n

The label products are designed to provide stable adhesion, support conversion processes, and maintain print quality on plastic, fibre and glass packaging.<\/p>\n

The offerings in the portfolio have external recognition for recycling compatibility across different packaging formats and markets.<\/p>\n

It added that independent testing is used to confirm particular label functions, including clean release.<\/p>\n

The range is expected to broaden over time with further adhesive technologies and label products as packaging requirements develop.<\/p>\n

UPM Adhesive Materials circularity and sustainable product design manager Suvi Rasa said: \u201cAs packaging recyclability requirements and regulations evolve, UPM ProCycle helps converters and brands navigate the changes and stay compliant. <\/p>\n

\u201cBacked by UPM\u2019s adhesive and sustainability expertise, the portfolio makes it easy to select label solutions for recyclability performance.\u201d<\/p>\n

In March, UPM Adhesive Materials\u00a0revealed\u00a0plans<\/a>\u00a0to widen its operations in India through a new slitting and distribution terminal near New Delhi.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The site is due to begin operating in the third quarter of 2026 and is intended to improve service for customers in Northern and Eastern India.<\/p>\n
