Packaging giant Amcor has received cleanroom certification for its thermoforming plant in Carolina, Puerto Rico, US.<\/p>\n

It said the certification reflects the facility\u2019s alignment with requirements covering safety, compliance and quality in healthcare packaging production.<\/p>\n

Amcor makes packaging and dispensing products for nutrition, health, beauty and wellness markets, using materials across flexible and rigid packaging, cartons and closures.<\/p>\n

The group employs more than 75,000 people and reports annualised sales of $23bn from over 400 sites in more than 40 countries.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the BBC<\/em> recently reported on expanding strike action<\/a> at Amcor\u2019s Cramlington plant in Northumberland, UK.<\/p>\n

Unite members at the medicines packaging site had been taking strike action each Monday from 18 May. From 8 June, the stoppages are due to extend to Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week.<\/p>\n

In a statement to\u00a0Packaging Gateway<\/em>, an Amcor spokesperson said: \u201cThe safety,\u00a0security\u00a0and well-being of our colleagues\u00a0remain\u00a0our top priority.
