Canovation and Canpack have entered a partnership to move the CanReseal can-end system closer to pilot-scale use and wider commercial preparation.<\/p>\n

The arrangement is intended to help shift the technology from an advanced development phase towards broader use.<\/p>\n

The work will combine Canovation\u2019s resealable can-end design with Canpack\u2019s production capabilities and international presence to address the technical and manufacturing steps needed ahead of pilot production and eventual market launch.<\/p>\n

Under the agreement, the two companies will carry out the remaining development work required for pilot-line implementation of CanReseal.<\/p>\n

Canovation will also continue working with Stolle Machinery Company, its long-time development partner in can-making equipment and tooling.<\/p>\n

Stolle will keep providing engineering, tooling and equipment support as the system moves towards use on existing can-making lines.<\/p>\n

Canovation chief operating officer Jeff Grajewski commented: \u201cWe are excited to formalise our relationship with Canpack as we move into the final stages of commercial readiness and validation.<\/p>\n

CanReseal is an aluminium can-end system developed to allow a container to be resealed while fitting within the established can manufacturing and filling network.<\/p>\n

The companies intended to improve ease of use for consumers and contribute to circular economy goals by making use of aluminium\u2019s recyclability and retained material value as an alternative to single-use plastic packaging, without requiring major changes to current industry processes.<\/p>\n

According to the companies, the system is designed for resealable aluminium beverage packaging, use with existing can production and filling infrastructure, support for circular economy and sustainability efforts, and improved portability and convenience.<\/p>\n

Canovation said development of CanReseal has been supported via participation in innovation programmes, including the 100+ Accelerator, as well as through work with organisations such as REMADE Institute, a US public-private partnership focused on circular economy technologies and sustainable manufacturing systems.<\/p>\n
