{"id":1968,"date":"2024-08-29T09:50:21","date_gmt":"2024-08-29T13:50:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.packagingindustrynews.com\/?p=1968"},"modified":"2024-08-29T09:50:21","modified_gmt":"2024-08-29T13:50:21","slug":"the-mschf-and-hot-wheels-collab-not-wheels-is-apparently-an-homage-to-our-first-set-of-wheels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.packagingindustrynews.com\/?p=1968","title":{"rendered":"The MSCHF and Hot Wheels Collab \u2018Not Wheels,\u2019 is Apparently an \u2018Homage\u2019 To Our First Set of Wheels"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Since 2016, the Brooklyn-based art collective\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/mschf.com\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MSCHF<\/a>\u00a0has directed their performance art projects and often hilarious satire at business, capitalism, and consumer culture.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>In their latest collaboration with Mattel and Hot Wheels, MSCHF has released what they call\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/creations.mattel.com\/products\/mattel-creations-x-mschf-hot-wheels-not-wheels-vehicle-hwv25?srsltid=AfmBOorj4_OF8md9kaxHQY__xp_Z6_zBDp1rZWy6kmmSU8w8huweaAvd\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Not Wheels<\/a>, a \u201cnot totaled yet\u201d car missing a wheel but with \u201ctons of personality.\u201d Modeled after Japanese imports from the 90s, the limited-edition release pays tribute to our first set of wheels, that faithful but lovingly weathered chariot that took us from school and our first jobs at Baskin Robbins or Pizza Hut.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The car sports a rusted undercarriage, a handful of parking tickets under the wiper, a cracked front windshield, a scrawled \u201cwash me\u201d in the rear window, seatbelts hanging from underneath the door, and some DIY repairs. Packaging-wise, it\u2019s absolutely Hot Wheels-esque, with \u201cMSCHF\u201d in the flaming banner.
