A new recyclable paper tape from Hickory, NC-based <\/span>Shurtape Technologies<\/a><\/span> offers packagers a sustainable alternative to conventional packaging tape. <\/span>CR 400<\/a><\/span> performance-grade, flatback tape is Shurtape\u2019s first recyclable packaging tape.<\/span><\/p>\n Constructed from paper, the pressure-sensitive tape is curbside recyclable and can be used for a variety of manual and automated package-sealing application. These include general-purpose packaging, binding, holding, tabbing, reinforcing, banding, and patching.<\/span><\/p>\n The product is made with Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)-certified paper (FSC-C154304) and a robust synthetic, rubber-based adhesive. The tape\u2019s strong, flexible kraft backing blends well with kraft cartons.<\/span><\/p>\n Shurtape reports that CR-400 tape \u201cdelivers a quick stick and excellent holding power\u201d and complies with FDA specifications for indirect food contact. The product provides the same levels of strength and reliability as the company\u2019s conventional packaging tapes, even on boxes made from recycled materials.<\/span><\/p>\n Shurtape<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Additionally, Western Michigan University has verified that the new tape is curbside recyclable while still attached to boxes.
