Recycling and rewards platform Trashie has unveiled the Tech Take Back Box to simplify the recycling of electronic waste such as phones, laptops, and tablets.<\/p>\n

This initiative represents the company\u2019s expansion from textile to technology recycling, addressing the growing issue of e-waste in landfills.<\/p>\n

Following the commencement of its textile recycling programme, Trashie has sold more than 500,000 Take Back Bags in the last 12 months.<\/p>\n

These bags have been used to collect clothing and other textiles, with 95% of the materials, equating to four million pounds, being diverted from landfills. The success of this programme has set the stage for Trashie\u2019s entry into the technology recycling market.<\/p>\n

E-waste is a significant environmental concern, with the average American generating approximately 47lb of e-waste each year.<\/p>\n

However, only 12.5% of this e-waste is recycled, leading to 130 million phones being discarded in US landfills annually. Trashie\u2019s Tech Take Back Box aims to offer a more accessible option for responsible e-waste disposal.<\/p>\n
