Ingka Investments, the investment arm of Ingka Group, the largest IKEA retailer, has announced plans to invest approximately \u20ac1 billion in companies that are strengthening global recycling infrastructure.<\/p>\n

This initiative is part of Ingka\u2019s broader strategy to transition towards a circular economy by increasing the availability of recycled materials and reducing carbon emissions.<\/p>\n

Every year, the global economy consumes 75% more natural resources than the Earth can regenerate, leading to immense waste production. However, less than 20% of waste is currently recycled.<\/p>\n

Ingka Investments aims to bridge this gap by funding companies that can enhance recycling technologies and increase the supply of secondary raw materials.<\/p>\n

Peter van der Poel, Managing Director of Ingka Investments, stated: \u201cOur \u20ac1 billion ambition to invest in growing recycling infrastructure is crucial to Ingka Group\u2019s broader sustainability strategy to go beyond our own operations.<\/p>\n
