The American public, who these days rarely agree on anything, overwhelmingly acknowledges that plastic is an environmental threat that needs fixing.<\/p>\n<p>Surveys, such as a recent\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.worldwildlife.org\/blogs\/sustainability-works\/posts\/what-do-americans-think-about-plastic-waste-in-2024\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">one<\/a>\u00a0conducted by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), show that 85% of Americans \u201cthink that plastic pollution is a serious and concerning problem that requires immediate political action.\u201d Another\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nielseniq.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2023\/01\/NIQ-2023-External-Sustainability-Report.pdf\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">survey<\/a>\u00a0by NielsenIQ found that a third of respondents agreed with the statement, \u201cIt\u2019s an important priority in my life that I try to activate daily.\u201d Forty-eight percent of those surveyed concur with the statement, \u201cSustainability is important for society, and I try to make sustainable choices when I can.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to a joint\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/nielseniq.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2023\/02\/Consumers-care-about-sustainability%E2%80%94and-back-it-up-with-their-wallets-FINAL.pdf\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">survey<\/a>\u00a0by McKinsey and NielsenIQ, brands with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) claims are also experiencing more sales growth than those without. A\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bain.com\/insights\/ten-takeaways-from-our-2024-sustainability-survey-of-consumers-infographic-ceo-sustainability-guide-2024\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">study<\/a>\u00a0by consulting firm Bain &amp; Company found that consumers would pay 10% more for products with minimal environmental impact, even in the face of inflation and higher prices on most goods.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/thedieline.com\/the-world-wanted-to-go-plastic-free-so-what-happened\/\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As recently as five years ago, the tide seemed to have turned on plastic pollution and sustainability.
