Ardagh Glass Packaging-North America (AGP-North America), a division of Ardagh Group, has announced the completion of a solar facility construction at its glass manufacturing plant in Madera, California, US.<\/p>\n

The plant will soon be powered by solar energy generated from the newly installed 13MW solar farm, spread over 55 acres.<\/p>\n
Clean energy generated by the solar field will be enough to fulfil nearly 20% of the electricity demand at Ardagh\u2019s glass manufacturing plant.<\/p>\n
AGP-North America president and CEO Brian Brandstatter said: \u201cThis renewable electricity project in Madera is a testament to Ardagh\u2019s commitment to sustainability.<\/p>\n
\u201cBeyond protecting the environment, we are investing in our local community and our customers. By enhancing our sustainability efforts, we are ensuring long-term value, reliability and cost-effective solutions for the brands that rely on us.<\/p>\n

The solar field was installed by Longroad Energy in partnership with several companies, including First Solar, Valta Energy, McCarthy Building Companies, Nevados, and A-C Electric Company.<\/p>\n
Ardagh said that it is committed to expanding the use of renewable energy across the regions where it operates.<\/p>\n

In 2019, Ardagh collaborated with KDC Solar to develop a solar field at its glass manufacturing facility in Bridgeton, New Jersey, US.<\/p>\n
The company operates 60 production plants for metal and glass across 16 countries, employing roughly 19,000 people and achieving sales of approximately $9.1bn, according to its website.<\/p>\n
