Credit: New Africa via Shutterstock. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"drop-cap\">The Aluminum Foil Container Manufacturers Association (AFCMA) in the US has backed the country\u2019s Department of Commerce\u2019s final determinations regarding imports of disposable aluminium containers from China.<\/p>\n<p>            <!-- sponsored-whitepaper sponsored hidden sponsored-with-form --><\/p>\n<p>The department has determined that imports of disposable aluminium containers, pans, trays, and lids from China are being sold in the US at unfairly low prices and are also receiving improper subsidies from the Chinese government.<\/p>\n<p>The body has set final antidumping margins, ranging from 193.90% to 287.80%, along with a final countervailing duty margin of 317.85%, which applies to all Chinese producers and exporters of disposable aluminium containers.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the department issued final affirmative critical circumstances determinations, enabling antidumping and countervailing duties to be applied to imports entering the US 90 days before the preliminary rulings, addressing a \u201csurge\u201d in Chinese imports.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation was initiated after petitions were filed seeking relief on behalf of AFCMA and some of its individual members.<\/p>\n<p>The next step will be the US International Trade Commission\u2019s (USITC) final proceedings to assess whether imports of disposable aluminium containers from China are causing or threatening material injury to domestic producers.<\/p>\n<p>The USITC is set to announce its final determination on 11 April 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The aluminium containers involved in these investigations are made primarily from flat-rolled aluminium.<\/p>\n<p>AFCMA counsel John Herrmann said: \u201cThe Commerce Department\u2019s final determinations demonstrate a robust commitment to combatting unfair trade through strong enforcement of the US trade laws.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThese determinations bring domestic producers of disposable aluminium container one step closer to securing relief from a surge in low-priced, unfairly traded imports from China.\u201d <\/p>\n<p>            <!-- sponsored-whitepaper sponsored hidden sponsored-with-form --><\/p>\n<p><!-- Newsletter banner start --><\/p>\n<p><!-- <link rel=\"stylesheet\" href=\"\"> --><\/p>\n<div class=\"grid-container\">\n<section class=\"gdm-newsletter-banner__container\">\n<div class=\"grid-x gdm-newsletter-banner__wrapper-container gdm-newsletter-banner__wrapper-container--article\">\n<div class=\"cell large-9 gdm-newsletter-banner-info__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"gdm-newsletter-banner-logo__container\">\n                    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.packaging-gateway.com\/wp-content\/themes\/goodlife-wp-B2B\/assets\/images\/newsletter-new.svg\" alt=\"Email newsletter icon\"\/>\n                <\/div>\n<p><h3 class=\"gdm-newsletter-banner__heading wp-noreslt\">Sign up for our daily news round-up!<\/h3>\n<h3 class=\"gdm-newsletter-banner__sub-heading\">Give your business an edge with our leading industry insights.<\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<p><!-- Newsletter banner end --><\/p>\n<footer class=\"article-footer\">\n                                <!-- article-actions start --><\/p>\n<p><!-- .gdm-article-actions -->                                <!-- article-actions end --><br \/>\n                            <\/footer>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.packaging-gateway.com\/news\/us-commerce-department-finalises-aluminium-determinations\/\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The investigated disposable aluminium products include pans, trays, lids, and containers made from flat-rolled aluminium.
