Jokey, a German producer of rigid plastic containers with lids, has introduced a new packaging line that uses recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET).<\/p>\n

The transparent containers are said to be produced using the injection stretch blow moulding (ISBM) process.<\/p>\n
ISBM technology, containing the highest achievable amount of rPET plastic, reportedly allows for a variety of tailored shapes and designs.<\/p>\n
By sourcing raw materials from post-consumer waste, ISBM technology supports recycling efforts, the company said.<\/p>\n
The process can reduce material usage by up to 15% compared to traditional PET injection moulding processes.<\/p>\n
Jokey Poland business development manager Mateusz Buli\u0144ski said: \u201cThe ISBM process and the use of rPET meet our requirements for efficiency and sustainability and are consistent with our goal of a circular economy for plastic packaging.\u201d<\/p>\n
Initially, Jokey is manufacturing blow jars and corresponding lids in capacities ranging from 150ml to 300ml.<\/p>\n
These clear containers, commonly used as ketchup bottles, soap dispensers, and pill boxes, are mainly utilised in the food and pharmaceutical sectors.<\/p>\n
Jokey Group CSO Christof K\u00f6lschbach said:\u00a0\u201cWith rPET-based PET packaging, we can meet the demand of existing customers and also open up new sales markets.\u201d <\/p>\n
The new product line will be produced at K\u0119dzierzyn-Ko\u017ale in Upper Silesia, Poland. <\/p>\n
