This integration will help achieve higher collection rates across a variety of industries.

In January, the UK Government announced plans to introduce legislation for a deposit return scheme (DRS) for bottles and cans across England, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.

The implementation of the scheme is scheduled in October 2027. Once implemented, consumers will be financially encouraged to return empty containers to collection points like local supermarkets, ensuring proper recycling.

Sign up for our daily news round-up!

Give your business an edge with our leading industry insights.

Source link

The scheme will be administrated by the non-profit SDR Portugal.
