Not that anyone is looking to reignite the great light beer wars of the 70s and 80s, but for an industry that has seen a sales\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.foxbusiness.com\/small-business\/beer-industry-decline-craft-breweries-face-higher-costs\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">decline<\/a>\u00a0in recent\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thedrinksbusiness.com\/2024\/01\/us-beer-sales-fall-to-lowest-level-in-quarter-of-a-century\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">years<\/a>, breweries big and small need to meet drinkers where they are, and if that means lighter options for a generation that\u2019s got wellness on the mind, than so be it.<\/p>\n<p>Pabst Light originally debuted in\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/vinepair.com\/articles\/hop-take-pabst-light-potential-for-success\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1983<\/a>\u00a0(thanks to the always reliable\u00a0<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/fingers.substack.com\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Dave Infante<\/a>\u00a0because it was genuinely hard to pin that down to a specific year), and while the brand does make a PBR Easy, this is an entirely new recipe with El Dorado hops that has fewer calories and a slightly higher ABV.
