Amcor has launched its Liquiflex AmPrima flexible pouches in the European market for bulk foodservice applications.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The company reports that the packaging offers up to a 79% reduction in carbon emissions and uses 84% less water. These figures are based on an assessment certified by the Carbon Trust.<\/p>\n

The pouches are designed to improve efficiency during storage and transit, taking up less space than metal cans before filling.<\/p>\n

Once filled, they occupy less volume than traditional canned products. They are suitable for items such as sauces, dressings, frozen vegetables, and proteins.<\/p>\n

The new design can also include post-consumer recycled materials that meet food-contact requirements.<\/p>\n

A pump or spout dispenser can be added to turn the pouch into a refillable container. This supports foodservice operations that require functional bulk packaging.<\/p>\n

Amcor says these pouches are compliant with the EU\u2019s Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation.<\/p>\n

Due to their lighter weight and recyclability, they may help businesses reduce extended producer responsibility fees and plastic-related taxes.<\/p>\n

Recyclability depends on local infrastructure, with the pouches being suitable for regions with polyethylene (PE) recycling systems.<\/p>\n

The product has been evaluated with a focus on key EU markets, including France, Germany, and Spain. Its design aligns with ongoing policy changes in packaging waste.<\/p>\n

Last month, Amcor introduced a paper-based stand-up pouch<\/a> for dry beverage refills.<\/p>\n

The product is being launched initially in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa as part of Amcor\u2019s AmFiber Performance Paper range.<\/p>\n
