Packaging and paper group Mondi has commenced operations at its Duino mill in Italy.<\/p>\n
The ramp-up phase at the mill is focused on consistent output of high-quality recycled containerboard.<\/p>\n
This product, derived entirely from recovered fibre, is particularly suited for the production of lightweight corrugated packaging.<\/p>\n
Such packaging solutions are both cost-effective and recyclable, meeting the demands of sectors such as e-commerce and consumer goods.<\/p>\n
Upon reaching full operational capacity, the facility will produce 420,000 tonnes of recycled containerboard each year.<\/p>\n
This expansion will not only bolster Mondi\u2019s operational integration but also ensure a more reliable supply for the company\u2019s clientele.<\/p>\n

The Duino mill aims to procure materials from local sources wherever feasible, thereby supporting the regional economy and curtailing greenhouse gas emissions by minimising transportation distances.<\/p>\n
Furthermore, the new containerboard machine is set to improve Mondi\u2019s supply chain integration and resilience, ultimately benefiting customers. <\/p>\n
