Tetra Pak\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tetrapak.com\/insights\/cases-articles\/retortable-renewable-pet-food-packages\" rel=\"external noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tetra Recart\u00ae<\/a> is a smart, convenient packaging choice that locks in flavor and nutrition and lessens climate impact.<\/p>\n<p>To discuss Tetra Pak\u2019s approach to pet food, we recently sat down with <strong>Matias Blanco<\/strong>, Tetra Recart Business Development Manager.<\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--- end wrap ---><\/p>\n<p>We asked Blanco how changing pet owner or \u201cpet parent\u201d preferences are affecting wet pet food packaging.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe most important attributes are that the package has to be easy to store, easy to open, and protects the product well,\u201d Blanco said, adding that one of the new attributes that pet parents are seeking is sustainability. \u201cSo recyclability ranks really high.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to being recyclable, 70% of Tetra Recart\u2019s packaging comes from renewable sources, i.e., paper that comes from a renewable forest.<\/p>\n<p>We also asked Blanco about the advantages of Tetra Recart when it comes to storage and logistics.<\/p>\n<p>Blanco noted that pet food often is packaged in cans. \u201cSo whenever those producers are transporting cans into their manufacturing facility, they\u2019re basically transporting air, right?
