Domino Printing Sciences.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"drop-cap\">The UK\u2019s Domino Printing Sciences has launched its latest Cx150i Piezo Inkjet (PIJ) printer, targeting improvements in coated shelf-ready packaging.<\/p>\n<p>            <!-- sponsored-whitepaper sponsored hidden sponsored-with-form --><\/p>\n<p>The company noted that its new solution has been engineered to print high-quality codes on nonporous surfaces, including secondary packaging.<\/p>\n<p>The Cx150i is part of Domino\u2019s Cx-Series range, concentrating on large-area printing with UV-curable inks.<\/p>\n<p>With a resolution capability of up to 600dpi, the printer can generate small characters suitable for dense 2D codes and compact Asian character sets.<\/p>\n<p>Domino claims that its inks adhere to international good manufacturing practice standards and European Printing Ink Association regulations, ensuring safe usage on secondary food packaging.<\/p>\n<p>The Cx150i\u2019s UV-curable ink set is reportedly distinguished by its quality and durability while also minimising volatile organic compound emissions compared to conventional printing methods.<\/p>\n<p>Engineered with sustainability in mind, the printer incorporates low-energy LED curing lamps and an innovative ink pouch system to reduce waste.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the Cx150i eliminates the necessity for regular cleaning or ink purging, which further diminishes waste and energy consumption, the company said.<\/p>\n<p>Domino PIJ product manager David Edwards said: \u201cIn today\u2019s fast-paced, consumer-driven world, brands are increasingly looking to stand out and increase shelf appeal.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is driving a move away from plain, brown cardboard towards branded nonporous substrates for shelf-ready and display packaging. With nonporous packaging, code durability can be an issue, particularly where food-contact materials are concerned.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCompliant solutions often fall short of expectations regarding legibility and durability and can be wasteful in terms of overall ink and energy usage.
