Credit: Amcor.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"drop-cap\">Packaging provider Amcor has teamed up with Mets\u00e4 Group to innovate moulded fibre-based food packaging solutions.<\/p>\n<p>            <!-- sponsored-whitepaper sponsored hidden sponsored-with-form --><\/p>\n<p>The partnership aims to develop 3D packaging with lidding and liners for a range of food applications.<\/p>\n<p>By prioritising recyclable solutions, the two companies intend to meet the increasing demand for environmentally responsible packaging options.<\/p>\n<p>As part of this collaboration, Amcor will combine its high-barrier film liners and lidding technology with Mets\u00e4 Group\u2019s Muoto, a wood-based moulded fibre product.<\/p>\n<p>This integration is expected to improve the functionality and sustainability of food packaging.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative aims to produce fibre-based packaging that not only safeguards perishable food items but also prolongs their shelf life, Amcor\u00a0said.<\/p>\n<p>Amcor\u2019s AmFiber range encompasses various fibre-based packaging solutions.<\/p>\n<p>These products are currently available on retail shelves worldwide, serving diverse applications such as snacks, dairy, and personal care items.<\/p>\n<p>The liner technology developed by Amcor offers strength and formability to moulded fibre trays.<\/p>\n<p>Muoto, created by Mets\u00e4 Spring, is both recyclable and biodegradable, making it suitable for a variety of uses, from takeaway to industrial packaging.<\/p>\n<p>By integrating Amcor\u2019s high-barrier film, Muoto gains enhanced functionality and improved marketability.<\/p>\n<p>The complete packaging solution is designed to be recyclable within the paper stream in most European markets. It has a Confederation of European Paper Industries recyclability score exceeding 80%, reinforcing its sustainability credentials.<\/p>\n<p>In the future, the partnership aims to develop a compostable solution.
