Credit: MOHAMED ABDULRAHEEM\/Shutterstock.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p class=\"drop-cap\">AE Global, a sustainable packaging solutions provider, has introduced verified badges for plastic-negative and plastic-neutral packaging.<\/p>\n<p>            <!-- sponsored-whitepaper sponsored hidden sponsored-with-form --><\/p>\n<p>The certifications are created in partnership with rePurpose Global, a prominent plastic waste platform. <\/p>\n<p>This collaboration guarantees that the verification of environmental impact is both thorough and trustworthy for the brands involved.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, participating brands can now showcase official icons that represent their plastic recovery initiatives.<\/p>\n<p>The badges indicate whether a brand is recovering an equivalent amount of plastic used in its packaging (plastic neutral) or double that amount (plastic negative).<\/p>\n<p>These new certifications are intended to improve product visibility in retail environments and online marketplaces.<\/p>\n<p>Research conducted by rePurpose Global shows strong consumer backing for this initiative.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, a nationwide survey revealed that 95% of consumers are prepared to pay a premium for products that support plastic recovery.<\/p>\n<p>Among consumers who prioritise sustainability in their purchasing choices, the readiness to pay more is even greater.<\/p>\n<p>This trend highlights the increasing demand for environmentally conscious products.<\/p>\n<p>AE Global managing partner Mike Forenza said: \u201cWhen brands show they\u2019re taking responsibility for their plastic footprint, it drives real-world impact and consumer trust.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough these on-pack icons with rePurpose Global, we\u2019re making it easy for brands to integrate plastic recovery into their packaging strategy while delivering verified sustainability that stands up to scrutiny.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Several brands such as Thrive Market and Saie Beauty have already embraced the rePurpose Global Plastic Neutral certifications.<\/p>\n<p>In 2024, AE Global and rePurpose Global worked together to recover 380,000lb of ocean-bound plastic waste.<\/p>\n<p>rePurpose Global co-founder and CEO Svanika Balasubramanian said: \u201cPositive environmental impact and operational efficiency aren\u2019t at odds.
