Based on these recent developments, we forecast sales in this segment to be higher in Q2 [the second quarter] than in previous quarters.

“While there is still a relatively modest share of our total business, we are expecting to see quite substantial growth rates, both year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter, going forward. Our strategy to focus on recycling is really starting to pay off.”

In addition to this milestone, Nexam Chemical is involved in several other customer projects that are currently undergoing evaluation and approval stages, with the expectation of transitioning into serial production.

The company is also developing new generations of additives to address further challenges within the recycling value chain.

Nexam Chemical CEO Ronnie Törnqvist said: “As we head into summer, we do so with a strong sense of momentum. It’s rewarding to see the results of our long-term efforts starting to materialise – especially in an area like recycling, that is both commercially attractive and crucial from a sustainability perspective.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to wish all our customers, partners and colleagues a wonderful summer.”

In July 2024, Nexam announced the receipt of initial orders for its intrinsic viscosity enhancers in recycled polyethylene terephthalate sheets.

Sign up for our daily news round-up!

Give your business an edge with our leading industry insights.

Source link

The additives enable the use of a higher proportion of recycled material in the production process.
