In a move aimed at better serving medical packaging customers who manufacture in Central and South America, Placon has opened a new warehouse and distribution facility in Costa Rica.<\/p>\n
The 150,000-square-foot, third-party logistics (3PL) facility is located near San Jos\u00e9 and Costa Rica\u2019s free trade zone (FTZ), and will serve as the supply chain hub for the warehousing, transportation, and inventory management of Placon\u2019s medical-related packaging for customers in the region. The company plans on expanding space and potentially manufacturing packaging in Costa Rica, as customer demand increases.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn recent years, Costa Rica has become a medical manufacturing hub for many of our customers,\u201d said Justin Stovall, Placon\u2019s Executive Vice President of Commercial Operations. \u201cOur goal is to provide them with the packaging they need, closer to their regional operations, to help streamline their own supply chain concerns, and avoid expensive packaging revalidations and tooling costs.\u201d<\/p>\n
All of Placon\u2019s medical packaging is ISO13485 certified, which guarantees that the company\u2019s manufacturing processes comply with rigorous medical device industry standards.<\/p>\n
