{"id":7788,"date":"2025-06-19T11:37:15","date_gmt":"2025-06-19T15:37:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.packagingindustrynews.com\/?p=7788"},"modified":"2025-06-19T11:37:15","modified_gmt":"2025-06-19T15:37:15","slug":"balcan-innovations-announces-200-million-investment-in-strategic-growth","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.packagingindustrynews.com\/?p=7788","title":{"rendered":"Balcan Innovations Announces $200 Million Investment in Strategic Growth"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <br \/>\n<br \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/balcaninnovations.com\/\" id=\"\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Balcan Innovations<\/a> has announced the completed installation of their new Windmoller &amp; Hoelscher (W&amp;H) printing press in Terrebonne, QC, serving as the first domino in a series of major investments in new extrusion, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.packagingstrategies.com\/topics\/2652-coding-marking-printing\" id=\"\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">printing<\/a>, and bag-making machinery destined for their Wisconsin and Quebec-based facilities.<\/p>\n<p>The company&#8217;s newly launched capex plan represents a $200 million commitment aimed at significantly expanding their US operations with 8 co-extrusion lines (W&amp;H, Bandera), 1 printing press (W&amp;H), 1 tuber (W&amp;H), and 2 bag-making machines (Lemo), set to be installed in Pleasant Prairie, WI in 2025 through 2027. This strategic investment will increase the plant\u2019s film capacity by more than 700% to meet the growing demands of their US customers.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor Balcan Innovations, the industrial packaging segment is not an afterthought\u2014it&#8217;s our singular focus,\u201d stated Ron Cauchi, Balcan Innovations\u2019 Chief Executive Officer. \u201cWe\u2019re strengthening our US footprint with a fleet of purpose-built machinery that will enhance our service levels and packaging capabilities for customers across the Building &amp; Construction, Lawn &amp; Garden, and Chemical sectors, among others.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Balcan Innovations has also received municipal government approval to expand their 215,000 square-foot factory in Pleasant Prairie by 15,250-square-feet to accommodate the incoming assets. Additional infrastructure investments include the installation of exterior rail spurs for direct resin delivery, electrical upgrades, companywide training tools, and an expansion of their Engineering and Maintenance workforce across all sites. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>To complement their planned US growth, the now-operational 10-color MIRAFLEX II press in Terrebonne represents a portion of Balcan Innovations\u2019 commitment to reinforcing their expansive Canadian roots.
