CCL’s focus will be on innovations that can increase recycling rates, enable reusable systems, reduce CO₂ emissions – and at the same time help brands stand out on the shelf. Read more about the innovations on display below:

EcoShear® – Simplifying Glass Recycling

With EcoShear®, CCL introduces a revolutionary adhesive technology developed specifically for single-use glass bottles. Traditional labels can impair the quality of recycled glass or adhere so strongly to glass shards that they are rejected during the sorting and recycling process – EcoShear®, however, enables nearly residue-free removal during recycling. This reduces glass waste to just 1.5 kg per ton and significantly increases the yield of high-quality recycled glass.

EcoFloat® WHITE – From White HDPE or PET to Clear PET

The new generation of floatable polyolefin sleeves enables a switch to clear PET for improved recycling compared to white HDPE for products such as yogurt, protein drinks, probiotic beverages, or other light-sensitive contents. The light protection barrier is moved from the bottle to the sleeve, and carbon-free inks optimize the PET recycling process. The bottles retain their familiar white appearance while complying with “Design-for-Recycling” standards.

Low Temperature WashOff – Efficiency for Reusable PET Bottles

With Low Temp WashOff, CCL brings its proven WashOff technology – already used for reusable glass – to the reusable PET bottle (refPET) market. The labels detach cleanly at washing temperatures starting from 58°C and shrink to support the removal process – offering enhanced efficiency on filling lines and an attractive product look.

EcoSource® BIO

Labels made from plant-based materials, available with ISCC-certified mass balance or direct sourcing. The result: reduced CO₂ footprint without compromising performance or recyclability.

EcoSource® PCR

Labels containing ≥30% recycled content, made from post-consumer materials (e.g. Yellow Bag waste). Available as permanent or WashOff versions – ideal for brands committed to true circularity.

Mono-Material Pouches – 100% Recyclable

With its mono-material pouches made from PE or PP, CCL presents a future-ready solution for flexible packaging that helps brands comply with PPWR. Unlike traditional pouches made from multiple laminated plastic layers, these are composed of a single material type, such as pure polypropylene.

Mono-material structures enable a clean material stream that is more easily integrated into existing recycling processes – a key requirement for functional circular economy models. They also have a significantly lower CO₂ footprint compared to multi-material packaging.

Reuse Systems with RFID & eAgile IT – Smart Reusable Loops

CCL will also showcase complete solutions for reusable packaging systems at Drinktec. Labels with integrated RFID technology can be applied to each individual reusable container, enabling seamless digital tracking throughout the entire supply chain. The eAgile platform links each packaging unit with a unique digital identity – allowing cycles, locations, and conditions to be recorded and managed in real time. This makes reuse not only more sustainable but also economically efficient and transparently scalable.

Source link

CCL Label is set to showcase their latest label and packaging solutions when the international beverage industry gathers at Drinktec, taking place from September 15-19, 2025, in Munich.
