KM Packaging, based in Ubstadt-Weiher (Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg, Germany), will be integrated into the ALPLAinject division. The six sites in Germany, Austria, Poland and the US with roughly 500 employees provide a significant increase in capacity and product range. KM Packaging manufactures more than 6.5 billion injection-molded parts each year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt ALPLA, we think of packaging in its entirety. Integration into the ALPLA \u2018Family of Pioneers\u2019 will secure the future of the sites, jobs and customer relationships,\u201d explains Klaus Mauer. \u201cWith ALPLA\u2019s global network, access to the innovative closures will be available worldwide in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<h4>Specialist in sustainable closures<\/h4>\n<p>KM Packaging\u2019s history goes back to 1949. The company as it is known today was formed in 2008 from the merger of Kutterer Kunststofftechnik and Mauer AG, two family companies. The renowned plastics specialist from the south of Germany manufactures standardized products and custom-made <a href=\"https:\/\/www.packagingstrategies.com\/topics\/3051-closures-lids\" id=\"\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">closures<\/a>, caps, dispensing systems and jars made of PP and PE, including in clean rooms if desired. Its products are used mainly in the cosmetics, pharmaceutical and food industries.<\/p>\n<p>KM Packaging is a technical partner that supports packaging developments, reduces material consumption through lightweighting, and recycles consistently. Use of up to 100 percent post-consumer recycled material (PCR) is possible, and screw caps and flip-tops made of HDPE are available for mono-material packaging applications.
