Avery Dennison, a radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag manufacturer, has introduced an RFID label that is the first to earn Association of Plastic Recyclers Design for Recyclability certification.<\/p>\n

The company noted that its label integrates seamlessly with North America\u2019s polyethylene terephthalate (PET) recycling system, establishing a new industry standard.<\/p>\n
The label is said to have been crafted by combining its unique CleanFlake adhesive with RFID expertise.<\/p>\n
It separates cleanly from PET during mechanical recycling, reducing impurities.
This development helps brands achieve their recycling and waste minimisation targets.<\/p>\n
PET is commonly used in bottles, food containers, cosmetics, and other household goods.<\/p>\n
Recyclable labels and adhesives decrease contamination and improve material reclamation efficiency. This strengthens the overall performance of the plastic recycling process.<\/p>\n
The distinctive RFID label uniquely marks items, enhancing sorting and recovery operations. It improves the quality of recycled PET and extends its usable life.<\/p>\n
Avery Dennison\u2019s technology optimises supply chain performance and reduces waste.<\/p>\n
The company plans to make the APR-certified label broadly available later this year.<\/p>\n
It is also working with independent bodies to expand PET recycling certification worldwide.<\/p>\n
This effort aims to assist brands in reaching their recyclability objectives.<\/p>\n
