American private equity company Atar Capital has announced that its affiliate WinCup has acquired Conver Pack, a Medley, Florida-based manufacturer of paper cup products.<\/p>\n

This acquisition is said to enhance WinCup\u2019s position in the sustainable foodservice packaging sector by adding Conver Pack\u2019s Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI)-certified paper cups to its product lineup.<\/p>\n

Conver Pack\u2019s products complement WinCup\u2019s \u2018phade\u2019 brand, which features marine-biodegradable and home-compostable straws, cups, and cutlery.<\/p>\n

WinCup CEO Brad Laporte said: \u201cThis strategic acquisition significantly expands WinCup\u2019s sustainable packaging capabilities and product portfolio by combining our innovative PHA [polyhydroxyalkanoates]-based phade technology with Conver Pack\u2019s premium paper solutions.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy offering customary substrates, PHA-based, and paper-based platforms, we can now provide foodservice operators a complete suite of traditional foodservice products plus truly sustainable alternatives that address virtually every packaging need.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since acquiring WinCup in 2020<\/a>, Atar Capital has prioritised the expansion of the phade line, which is claimed to have replaced more than three billion plastic straws with eco-friendly alternatives.<\/p>\n

WinCup said that the integration of Conver Pack\u2019s products further strengthens its ability to meet the growing demand for sustainable packaging solutions in the foodservice industry.<\/p>\n
