Industrial packaging solutions provider UFP Packaging has introduced the \u2018U-Loc 200\u2019 solution, a crate system that features a tool-free fastener designed for easy assembly and disassembly.<\/p>\n
This new fastener, which is currently patent-pending, removes the necessity for traditional tools such as nail and staple guns, which are reportedly linked to approximately 37,000 emergency room visits each year.<\/p>\n
This solution is suitable for packaging high-value items, including medical equipment, technology, glass products, and appliances.<\/p>\n
The U-Loc 200 aims to provide a safer and more efficient solution for crating, with a design that is fully reusable, according to the company.<\/p>\n
The fastener is constructed from flexible polyamide and includes a built-in \u2018finger grip\u2019 feature for straightforward application and removal.<\/p>\n
Its reusable nature is enhanced by antislip teeth and two additional hooks that secure all corners of the crate, ensuring the required strength and stability to replace conventional nails.<\/p>\n
By removing the need for pneumatic and prying tools, the U-Loc 200 protects sensitive products while maintaining the integrity of the crate, stated UFP.<\/p>\n
UFP Packaging product development and marketing director Robert Bilbrough said: \u201cAfter decades without meaningful change, the U-Loc 200 marks the next major innovation in open-style crating \u2013 one that finally puts worker safety first.\u201d<\/p>\n
