Sidel is set to introduce new EvoBLOW Laser technology at Drinktec 2025, taking place from 15 September to 19 September at the Munich Trade Fair, Germany.<\/p>\n

The new solution sets a new standard for performance within the food and beverage packaging sector, specifically in the lightweighting of PET and recycled PET (rPET).<\/p>\n

The new laser technology enables the creation of lighter and stronger containers.<\/p>\n

Unlike traditional halogen systems that heat preforms in broad zones, the EvoBLOW Laser employs up to 36 heating lines, compared to just eight zones in halogen alternatives.<\/p>\n

The technology enables lightweighting even for high-end bottles by creating invisible \u201cpower rings\u201d \u2013 thicker material rings that are undetectable to consumers.<\/p>\n

The rings enhance the strength and feel of the bottle while reducing overall material usage, replacing traditional \u201cgeometrical ribs\u201d and providing better design flexibility.<\/p>\n

Lightweighting can occur in areas previously deemed challenging, such as just below the bottle\u2019s neck.<\/p>\n

Sidel President and CEO Pietro Cassani stated: \u201cSidel has led the way in blowing technology for over 45 years. At Drinktec, we now unveil the world\u2019s first industrialised laser-powered solution, which is a game-changer.\u201d<\/p>\n

The EvoBLOW Laser is unaffected by external conditions, ensuring consistent quality with minimal effort.<\/p>\n

It operates with just one process setting per heating line, guaranteeing that every preform receives the exact thermal profile required, regardless of fluctuations in ambient temperature.<\/p>\n

The EvoBLOW Laser also enhances efficiency through its design and cold start capability.<\/p>\n

Unlike halogen systems that need time to warm up or cool down, the laser oven is always operational, eliminating downtime during production transitions.<\/p>\n

Line efficiency is further boosted by live speed modulation, allowing the blower to automatically adjust its speed in real-time to accommodate changing line conditions.<\/p>\n

The technology simplifies logistics by enabling the blowing of a broader range of formats and shapes from the same preform.<\/p>\n

The ability to restart instantly with consistent quality alleviates the stress associated with unplanned halts, while the cold oven technology permits quick access without the risk of burns.<\/p>\n

For adjustments, an intuitive \u201ctouch and shape\u201d interface facilitates rapid setting changes. Maintenance is simplified due to the absence of ventilation fans and filters, alongside the durability of laser diodes.<\/p>\n

Sidel\u2019s collaboration with Refresco, an independent beverage solution provider, has allowed the EvoBLOW Laser to undergo field testing.<\/p>\n

Refresco chief supply chain officer Coert Michielsen stated: \u201cAfter 45 years of halogen technology, we are now entering a new era. I firmly believe that laser oven technology will become the new standard.\u201d<\/p>\n
