Designed to meet How2Recycle® guidelines for store drop-off recycling and validated with a prequalification letter, the matte-finish film is the latest innovation developed through CNG’s material science expertise.

Manufactured using CNG’s next-generation MDO platform, the new GreenArrow™ matte MDO-PE print film integrates a premium matte aesthetic directly into the material, eliminating the need for secondary coatings or overprint varnishes. The result is a cost-effective solution that simplifies operations, ensures consistent machineability and enables faster turnaround for converters and consumer packaged goods (CPG) brands.

CNG currently operates multiple MDO-PE lines across its Milton, Wisconsin, and Lexington, Ohio, sites, giving the company the broadest capability set in North America to meet growing demand for GreenArrow™ recycle-ready solutions. In this process, the film is stretched in the machine direction to enhance strength, stiffness, and heat resistance while reducing material usage. The result is thinner gauges, greater efficiency in high-speed converting, and stronger package integrity — all achieved without sacrificing durability. These benefits deliver clear advantages for today’s demanding packaging formats.

“Our customers have been asking for a simplified film solution that delivers a premium matte finish and aligns with their sustainability goals. With our new matte MDO-PE print film, we’re excited to deliver just that — a turnkey solution that allows our customers to create packaging designed for recycling with shelf appeal and an enhanced tactile experience,” said James Rosenberger, Product Manager of Sustainable Solutions at CNG.

Positioned as a leading solution for premium sustainable packaging formats, the matte-finish MDO-PE print film offers modern shelf appeal, tactile differentiation, and premiumization in a recyclable format. It is especially suited for food packaging, pet food, confectionery, labels and other applications where brands seek to align premium positioning with sustainability goals.

GreenArrow™ is CNG’s flagship portfolio of sustainable films, spanning recycle-ready, recycled content, compostable, and low-carbon solutions. As the film platform of choice for leading global brands, GreenArrow™ enables the next generation of sustainable packaging and reinforces CNG’s leadership in recyclable films — a position underscored by more than 450 How2Recycle® pre-qualification letters across its product lines.

CNG will debut the new GreenArrow™ matte-finish MDO-PE print film at PACK EXPO Las Vegas from September 28 – October 1.
