AWA called the deal a “significant milestone” in its plan to expand its foothold in smart and intelligent packaging and labelling solutions.

The firm looks to gain synergies through the incorporation of AIPIA’s capabilities, which will help it widen the scope of customer services.

Established in 2011, AIPIA is working for the development and adoption of connected and smart packaging technologies through its global network, events and industry collaborations.

AWA’s acquisition will integrate AIPIA’s intelligent packaging expertise with its own analytical capabilities and support the continued growth of the AIPIA & AWA Global Congress.

AWA Alexander Watson Associates president and CEO Corey M Reardon stated: “We are excited to welcome AIPIA into the AWA family. The active and intelligent packaging sector is at the forefront of technological advancement, and this acquisition reflects our commitment to providing our clients with unparalleled access to the latest information, trends and insights.

“With AIPIA’s extensive network and know-how, we are set to lead the way in guiding the future as an information source to the packaging and labelling industry.”

The deal will expand both organisations’ business intelligence, networking and event offerings for industry stakeholders.

AIPIA managing director Eef de Ferrante added: “Joining forces with AWA presents an exciting opportunity for AIPIA.

“Together, we are poised to elevate our impact in the active and intelligent packaging domain, delivering exceptional value as an information and networking hub.”
