Shelf Life 023: Summer Slump Reading


This marks the first week of writing Shelf Life where the weekly trends haven’t screamed at me. 

At first, I thought it was because my personal algorithms were out of whack. My fiance and I are getting a puppy in a few days, so my Instagram and TikTok feeds are overwhelmingly Golden Retrievers. And when ToiTok and Instagram aren’t force-feeding (in a good way) me cute puppy videos, I’m seeing TOO MUCH political commentary. On top of that, my inbox has been weirdly quiet, and we’re just deep in that general summertime slump. 

Still, the internet didn’t completely hit pause, and here’s what I found myself digitally consuming this past week.
