Aaron Packaging, founded in 1991 and based in Sumner, Washington, produces and distributes plastic and glass containers and closures.

The business has supplied Novvia subsidiary Rhino Container for many years.

Aaron Packaging serves industrial and consumer markets with a broad packaging range.

Co-owner Jake Thulin will continue to oversee the company’s manufacturing activities, working with fellow co-owners Bryan and Steve Thulin.

Jake Thulin stated: “We have valued our relationship with Novvia over the years and thought they were a natural home for our distribution business.”

Novvia is backed by private equity firm Kelso & Company and operates a group of packaging businesses including Inmark, CL Smith, Silver Spur, Container Supply and Fox Valley.

Novvia executive chairman Ken Roessler stated: “Since establishing a presence in Oregon and Washington through the carve-out of JF Shelton’s packaging distribution business, we have been focused on growing our presence in the region by identifying complementary businesses with durable growth trajectories. Aaron Packaging fits well within this thesis.”

Kelso, headquartered in New York, has deployed more than $20bn of equity across more than 140 deals since 1980, with experience in distribution and packaging platforms.

In May 2025, Novvia Group acquired Garrett Hewitt International (GHI), a US-based company that supplies packaging for cosmetics.

GHI supplies both plastic and glass containers, focusing on the beauty and fragrance industries.

In March, Novvia Group completed the acquisition of MegaChem in the US state of North Carolina or an undisclosed sum.

MegaChem specialises in pails and drums, alongside other rigid packaging products.
