The company is concentrating on solutions that combine corrosion protection with end-of-life options designed to reflect forthcoming EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation requirements.

The portfolio spans certified compostable films, anti-static corrosion protection products, recyclable barrier papers and stretch-wrap substitutes made with compostable resins.

Highlighted materials include EcoWorks films and bags made from BPI-certified compostable resin for breakdown in commercial composting systems, as well as EcoFilm, a certified commercially compostable polyethylene replacement.

The lineup features Eco-Corr Film ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) for static-sensitive multi-metal components, EcoShrink, a heat-shrink film with key compostability certifications, and Eco Wrap, a compostable stretch film compatible with existing wrapping equipment.

EcoCortec has also rolled out EcoBio Barrier Paper, which the company describes as recyclable, repulpable and biodegradable.

The product is made from 100% recycled fibre and features a biobased coating for short-term moisture and grease-resistant uses that avoid plastics and fluorochemicals.

These packaging options are aimed at delivering full corrosion protection while supporting more sustainable disposal and recovery routes.

Cortec CEO Boris Miksic stated: “The move toward genuinely sustainable packaging is not just an economic and environmental imperative. Products like EcoBio Barrier Paper are vital because they allow industries to maintain product integrity and safety without sacrificing the planet.

“Our certified sustainable VCI/VpCI packaging line delivers uncompromised corrosion protection while guaranteeing a plastic-free end-of-life, whether through recycling, composability, or biodegradation”.
