EMP, founded in 1989 by Chris and Carol Fread, supplies pressure-sensitive and nonadhesive labels to a range of end markets.

Its products are used in industrial and container applications, including drums, pails and intermediate bulk containers, as well as in food and beverage and consumer durable goods.

The business also manufactures custom labels, barcodes, and thermal transfer items from its International Organization for Standardization 9001-certified facility, serving a base of regional blue-chip customers.

Following more than 30 years at the helm, founder Chris Fread said he was confident about EMP’s prospects under its new owner, noting he was assured “in the company’s future with Inovar.”

Inovar CEO Jeff Brezek said: “As we continue to strategically grow the organisation, we’re focused on acquiring businesses that align with our values and customer-focused culture, enhance our technical capabilities, and strengthen our position in the marketplace.

“The addition of Enterprise Marking Products expands our flexographic platform, deepens our presence in the Midwest, and strengthens our ability to deliver high-performance labelling solutions across multiple end markets.”

The Dallas, Texas-headquartered group now operates 13 sites across the US, supplying labels, shrink sleeves, and extended content formats.

EMP, meanwhile, will continue to specialise in durable custom labels designed for demanding industrial environments.

Earlier in April, Inovar acquired ModTek, a manufacturer of labels located in Pennsauken Township, New Jersey, US.
