Better Battery Co. Touts Plastic-Free Packaging, Carbon Neutrality

Better Battery Co.—the world’s first carbon-neutral alkaline battery company—also is one of the first alkaline battery companies to eliminate plastic in its packaging across North America.

“Unlike some traditional battery brands, BBCo. has taken a bold step to reduce plastic waste, ensuring that every product aligns with their broader commitment to sustainability, including carbon neutrality and their focus on responsible battery disposal,” the company notes. “BBCo. champions and advocates for recycling wherever available and has an innovative built-in recycling option for their kit product line.”

BBCo. adds: “This pioneering initiative aligns with the values of today’s eco-conscious consumers and retailers, making sustainable choices more accessible without compromising performance and cost.”

BBCo. offers seven small pack SKUs, tailored to meet a variety of consumer needs. Their small pack line is designed with sustainability at the core:

  • Plastic-Free
  • FSC Certified Packaging
  • Certified Carbon Neutral
  • 100% Recyclable + Reusable Box for Battery Storage

Small Pack Configurations: AA8, AA16, AAA 8, AAA16, 9V2, C4, D4

BBCo. also offers a kit line designed to be fully recyclable—both the box and insert are 100% recyclable. BBCo kits help keep junk drawers tidy with a built-in storage box. Each kit also includes access to a prepaid shipping label to send used batteries for recycling. Every BBCo. kit has the potential to divert not only packaging but copious batteries from going to landfills.

Kit Configurations: AA40, AAA40, COMBO (AA20/AAA20)

“We are excited to partner with retailers who share our vision of reducing waste and making sustainable products the new standard,” said Jaclyn Byles, Co-Founder of BBCo.

Better Battery Co. products are now available at leading retailers and sustainability-focused marketplaces, including Wegmans, Grove Collaborative, Home Hardware, Walmart, and many more.
